2008 Elections and results
Well, we've spent a good deal of time organising and carrying-out this year's UHISA elections (and by-elections) for the Executive Committee, but what was the outcome of all our efforts? Read on to find out...
Well, alongside being one of the most important parts of the student association, democracy and the elections has also been great fun this year! They have provided a fantastic opportunity for the candidates to find out the views and needs of their fellow students, as well as gaining support for their ideas.
This year has seen further improvements on last year, in terms the number of people putting themselves forward for our Executive Committee, particularly in relation to the two full-time, sabbatical positions of President and Vice-President. So, without further ado, I give you the names of the successful students who have been elected to represent UHI students for 2008/09 (drum roll please):

In keeping with the 1994 Education Act, and in order to ensure good conduct and administration of a fair election process, the Students' Association appoints an independant Returning Officer. Emma Corbett, the UHI Student Development Officer has acted as that independant Returning Officer for these elections, so thanks are due for her work on this over the last few months!
