a few (or 5 even) handy tips for your election campaign

“Five Top Tips”

1.  Draw up some realistic campaign objectives – think about the time and resources available to you and work out how to make the best use of them.

2.  Use publicity, don’t abuse it – make sure it’s clear, eye catching and as simple as possible.  Try not to say too much on posters and use leaflets for more detail, you could include your manifesto on these.

3.  Get in touch with a current UHISA representative – find out about the position you are standing for.

4.  Use a theme for the election and “brand” yourself – think of a good short slogan or catchphrase but please do not breach copyright!

5.  Talk about issues and ideas to students - the most effective way of getting people to vote is to speak to them individually.  You should have a sore throat by the end of election!
