Hello everyone, I’m Nathan Shields and I am your UHISA President for 2011/12. This is my second term as UHISA President and I am very excited about building on our successes last year. UHISA has a great team behind it this year and I’m confident that UHISA will continue to grow and serve the University students better than ever before.

A little bit about me:

I started my great educational voyage almost 7 years ago at Perth College UHI studying an NQ in Music Performance, four years and a lot of fun later I completed the music degree and graduated with a distinction.

I entered the exciting world of student unions by volunteering to help out at Perth College Students’ Association. A year later I ran for election and became the Students’ Association President, the following year I was re-elected for a second term.

I decided to get involved in UHISA because I believe that I could make a real difference. The first year in office, alongside Chris Talbot Vice President 10/11, was an amazing experience. I have personally learnt and developed a lot since joining UHISA and I feel very fortunate to get the opportunity to get involved in some great things.

The big themes for moving UHISA forward this year are Partnership, Communication, and Co – Creation. UHSIA can, and should, be a leading force in bringing the UHI students together, building a community, and working with each unique partner to enhance the experience of all students.
